Honouring nature
Parc oriental de Maulévrier (28 km) :
Europe's largest Japanese garden (29 hectares) opens its doors to you for a romantic and/or family stroll among mainly Asian species.
Rich and varied vegetation, Japanese-style pruning (you can even watch the incredible cutting of branches by the local gardeners, standing on a chair in the middle of a boat).
It contains the species of around 300 plants, including camellias, azaleas, Japanese maples and ginkgo biloba, as well as an exhibition of bonsai trees.
After wandering through the alleys, we recommend enjoying a cup of tea flavoured with oriental scents on the terrace of the café, where a multitude of Koi carp strut their stuff. You can also buy cuttings on the spot to impress your friends.
To top it all off, you can visit the park at night, under the subdued light of lanterns.
Our advicel : The park is pet-friendly. So you can take your dog for a walk, on a lead.
